France Political Parties

France is a country with a multi-party system. The scenario in France is such that no party has the chance of gaining power alone. All the parties require to work with each other to form coalition governments. The Government of France has been altering between two stable coalitions. On the left is the French Socialist Party. The French Communist Party, Les Verts and the Left Radical Party are its minor members.

On the right, is the Union for a Popular Movement. Its predecessors are also a part such as Rally for the Republic and the Union for a Presidential Majority. The Union for French is a minor partner. The minor parties are those parties that make less than 3% in national elections. Those parties, which have a reasonable chance of leading a national government, are called major parties. Those parties, which have just one leading personality, are referred to as "one-person" parties.

The Trotskyists include the Revolutionary Communist League and Workers' Struggle. The Left-Wing includes the Socialist Party, Left Radical Party, French Communist Party and Citizen and Republican Movement. The Centrists include the Union for French Democracy. The Right-Wing includes Union for a Popular Movement, National Center of Independents and Peasants and the Radical Party.

The Greens or Les Verts is an ecologist political that is to the left of the French political system. The Greens have been in existence since 1982.

The Far-right includes National Front, and National Republican Movement. The Eurosceptic parties include Movement for France and Rally for France and European Independence.

The Minor Parties include the Royalists such as Royal Alliance, Nouvelle Action Royaliste, Rassemblement democrate and Action Francaise. The Right (La Droite) is also a minor political party in France that was founded by Charles Millon. The Left parties such as Communist Workers Party of France, Parti des Travailleurs and Pole of Communist Rebirth in France are also minor parties.
